About Me

Hello! My name is Daphne Wallace-Murphy. I grew up in Orono Maine. I am a Fashion Design and Production student at Lasell University in Newton Massachusetts. 

My goal is to have my own fashion line that consists of only sustainable clothes. Protecting the environment has always been something I value. Fashion has been one of my passions, but as I have learned about the negative effects the fashion industry has on the planet I have felt very conflicted about pursuing a career in clothing design. After taking time to reflect, I decided that the best way to make a change is by being part of it.

A sustainable method of fashion is recycling what has already been manufactured. When I have my own clothing line, I would like my main form of production to be from recycling fabric. I would source my fabric from  second hand and vintage garments. This method of creating fashion perfectly plays into my retro aesthetic.
